Sisterly Love...

I am having so much fun with my 2 girls! When it's available, I love to dress them alike and make matching bows. It's so fun (and a little addicting!) and they look so cute!

Aside from that..I am excited to watch their relationship grow. I didn't have a sister growing up so I'm excited to enjoy the girls as they play and fight together! I hope they can grow up close and the best of friends.

As of late, Addysen is totally mesmorized with Elodie. If Elodie is in the room and Addysen is awake, she can watch Elodie forever!! It's so cute to watch her eyes light up when Elodie talks to her! And she just beams and gets so excited when her big sister pays attention to her! We love to watch their interaction with each other!

Memorial Day Weekend

Our usual bunch got together at Audrey's for a Memorial Day Barbeque. The weather was PERFECT and everyone had a great time stuffing their faces, watching the kids play in the water, and enjoying each other's company! I wish every weekend was a 3 day weekend. But then again, all the laundry I was suppose to do yesterday is piled up and waiting for me today. As much as I love long weekends, they really throw the rest of my week off! Before I know it, it will be the weekend again!

ANYWAY, it wouldn't be a party without pictures! I'm so grateful for good friends! We missed you Mariley and Yolanda!

Yes, that is what you think it is...my husband using our child as a human bowling ball! That little blob mixed with water is Elodie....she forgave him later! Look at that form! Good idea Chris! ;)

All the girls...

All the guys...

Lastly, I huge shout out to my Paw Paw Whitney (he will be 95 in October)...He served in WWII from 1941 to 1945. I got to talk to him this morning for a few minutes and I'm so grateful for the sacrifices he has made for our family and our country. He is a huge example to me!

2 month check up...

Addysen had her 2 month check up yesterday. I'm so glad Christopher only works half days on Friday because I hate when my kids have to get shots..especially the newborn ones when they don't know what the heck is going on! She was a little trooper!

She weighs in at 10 pounds 8 ounces and 21 inches long. She is in the 10th percentile for weight and the 20th for height. The pediatrician was happy to see her growth and instead of being obsessed with her being on the chart, she was happy to see that Addysen is progressing at her own little pace! She is a happy content little girl and we feel blessed for that! Her sleep schedule as of late is going down at 8pm and waking up around 4:30am. She will eat and then go back to sleep until about 6:30am. The last 2 nights she has been waking up more often than that and my pediatrician said she is probably hitting a growth spurt.

This picture was taken on Thursday. We have been having some AWESOME rainy, cold few days here in Arizona. At the beginning of the week we had a heat advisory of 108!! Starting on Thursday we had record lows of 55 during the day! On this day, I pulled out some of Elodie's old 0-3 month winter clothes, opened all the windows and sliding door, and we all enjoyed the cool air! Addysen likes sitting in her bumbo for short little periods of time. When I snapped this picture she was sitting in front of the sliding door watching Elodie play on the patio.

New Recipe

I tried this recipe the other night and got good reviews from Chris...it made a ton and we ate it 2 nights in a row. I'll definitely make this again. I got this recipe from the pioneer woman. If you've never checked out her website, it rocks! I love it!

Chicken Spaghetti Casserole:

Ingredients-
2 can cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
2 cups cooked chicken
2 cups grated cheese
1/4 cup finely diced green peppers
1/2 cup finely diced onion

1 4oz jar pimentos, drained
3 cups dried spaghetti, broken into 2 inch pieces
2 cups chicken broth
1 teaspoon Lawry's Seasoning Salt
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper- if you want a little kick
Salt and Pepper for taste

Topping-
1 additional cup grated cheese

Directions-
You can either pan fry 3 or 4 chicken breast or boil a whole chicken and debone. I opted for the chicken breast since that's what I had on hand. One of those broiled chickens from walmart or costco would be good too.
Boil spaghetti- do not overcook as it will go in the oven for 30 minutes at the end.
Once spaghetti is cooked, combine all ingredients in a large bowl.

Place spaghetti mixture in a casserole dish. Sprinkle with 1 cup grated cheese and bake uncovered for 30 to 45 minutes, or until cheese is melted and bubbly.

My own notes- I didn't add the pimentos or the cayenne pepper so I probably should have added more of the other seasonings. I thought it needed a little more seasoning but Chris thought it was fine. I'm always just paranoid of making a dish too salty..I figure you can just add it when you sit down to eat. Also, I only needed one cup of the chicken broth and since I didn't boil my own chicken, I just used can chicken broth. Hope you enjoy! It was a hit at my house...to quote Christopher "It's pasta, chicken, and cheese...what's NOT to like!?!"

Dress Up...

Elodie LOVES to dress up...she is always coming up with strange outfits she thinks are "SO CUTE"!

And yes, she is SO CUTE! But I would never let her out of the house looking like this! Atelast her bows match the top half of her outfit!

FINISHED!

I finished The Host today...kept me guessing till the very end! I really liked it! Although the whole idea of an alien taking over a girl's body is kinda weird...then again, the idea of a girl falling in love with a vampire is pretty weird too! Overall, good. I'm not throwing myself all over the book but I would read the sequels if she made them.

BFF

From over the weekend...Addysen and Grayce, both exactly 2 months and 5 days (when this picture was taken on Saturday)!

Mother's Day Recap

Along with every other mother in America, I had a great Mother's Day. Christopher TOTALLY surprised me with Adobe Photoshop!! I've wanted this program for a LONG time but have always found some excuse why the program was too expensive...like I'd rather buy clothes for Elodie! The joys of motherhood. I'm so happy Chris got it for me! Now the process of learning how to use the program! I've gotten a few suggestions from my friend Rachel, but if any of my other photography buddies have any tips, pass them my way!! I'm so excited to see how this program enhances my pictures!! First test will be Addysen's blessing pictures!

Christopher treated me to lunch on Saturday at Claim Jumpers and didn't complain one time while we walked the mall and I did a little shopping! Thank you Chris, Elodie, and Addysen for making me feel so loved and special! I love being your mama!!

Saturday evening Mace called Chris with the idea of making lunch for me and Melissa on Sunday. I paniced a bit with the idea of it being so last minute...ya know, the menu, did I have stuff to make a dessert, was my house clean enough for company, all of those things that boys don't think of! After Chris got off the phone with Mace I asked him what the plan was and he said hamburgers and chips! No big deal! AHHH! Boys and girls think COMPLETELY differnt! Girls think it should be a 9 course meal and guys think hamburgers and chips! As it should be I guess! It was hard to leave all the details to the guys but they did a great job and of course, like always, there was plenty to eat!! Christopher even made his chocolate chip cookies!! And me and Melissa had a great time chatting in the living room while the guys scurried around setting the table and getting dinner together! THANKS Mace and Chris!

Chris and I both got a chance to chat with our mom's on Sunday too! I feel so blessed to have such an awesome relationship with my mom! She is not just my mom, she is my friend and I love her! I will always strive to have our relationship with my girls!

And, of course I have some awesome frieinds who are moms and I love you all! Thanks for being my friend and in return making me a better mom! 'Cause Heavenly Father knows that Girls Night Outs make us better moms!! I am so blessed!

Lookie what I got!!

The Host by Stephenie Meyer came out this past Tuesday! I'm still shocked it has taken me until today to go buy it!

I'm so excited to jump into this book! All the reviews say it's just as good as the Twilight series! As if that is possible right? Hopefully this will tie us all over until the 4th book Breaking Dawn comes out on August 2nd! CAN'T WAIT! I'm sure Melissa is the only one that can truely appreciate my excitment! Our book club is reading The Host for this month so I need to get crackin'! It's a little over 600 pages! Maybe Christopher having a guys night isn't such a bad thing after all! Happy Reading!

Poor Me..

Today I am throwing myself a pity party! Usually Christopher only works a half day on Fridays. He is home between 10:30am and noon. It's fabulous! It gives me just enough time in the morning to get everybody bathed and dressed for the day and I get all my end of the week chores done so my weekend can start when Chris gets home. A normal Friday includes errands, eating out, and taking care of anything that won't be opened on Saturday. Fridays are especially nice because it's really like having a 3 day weekend with dad and because we get a ton done on Friday, Saturday is more of a relaxing day for us! You just can't beat it. It must be an unwritten rule for engineers because every firm Chris has worked at, they only work half days on Friday! We love it!

So, why the pity party today? Because the office is having a golf tournament at 1pm today and right afterwards Christopher is playing softball at 9pm tonight! Christopher won't be at home at all today!! And to make matters worse! He played ball last night too! I shouldn't be complaining because it's something he enjoys doing, it gives him an opportunity to get to know the guys at work, and it doesn't happen often enough for me to be complaining! In fact, this is the first Friday in a long time that he hasn't been at home with us! It doesn't mean I can't be sad that we don't get to spend time with our dad today...It does make for a long day for me and the girls! I think we need a shopping trip or something to lift our spirits! Lunch out, a movie rental, maybe a little scrapbooking after the girls are in bed (I've got mother's day gifts to finish)... my spirits are lifted already! ;)

Amazing Jakes

While Chris' family was in town, we met up at a place called Amazing Jakes on Saturday. It's more geared for older kids so there were only a few things Elodie could do, but we had a great time hanging out with family. My highlight was watching Elodie bowl for the first time...Chris' dad got a lane for all the grandkids but Elodie was getting tired of it towards the end so Chris and I took turns helping her out...she still came in last place so I don't how much helping we did! It's been a while since we have bowled but I definitely want to go again!
Cousins: Shealynn, Aubrey, and Elodie

Daddy teaching his girl to drive...

Me and Aubrey playing Dance Revolution, she totally kicked my butt! I do want one of these in my house though, I got the best workout!

Elodie bowling...

She would stand there and wait for the ball to hit any of the pins. It took forever for her ball to make it down the lane!!

I took bowling in college, can't you tell? I got an A too!

Look at that action shot!!

Addysen's Blessing

We blessed Addysen this morning. It was so nice to have some of Chris' family in town for it. I konw it was a struggle for everybody to get up that early and come to our ward at 8am in the morning! We missed all our family that couldn't make it...it's times like this that I miss my family in Louisiana the most!

The blessing was so nice, Chris did a great job. He was really concerned about getting emotional in front of the congregation but he held it together nicely! Addysen looked so sweet in her blessing dress and only cried a little bit towards the end of the prayer.

After sacrament, everyone came back to our house for breakfast and visiting.
By the time we got home, Addysen was ready to get out of her dress so I don't have any pictures of her alone. I do plan on taking some studio style pictures of her in her dress this next week so stay tune!
