Kicks and Giggles

Mostly for the Grandma's in our life but you might get a kick out of it too. Kudos to my videographer Elodie.

I hit 700 entries and didn't even realize it!

And to celebrate 700....2 cake pictures from a cake I did yesterday for a 4 years old birthday party. This cake is this little girls 4th cake from me. I love when people call me back year after year to do more cakes for them.

Spaghetti Face

My engineer came to the rescue yet again and found a sweet deal on a monitor for only 20 bucks on Craig's List! Nothing fancy but thankfully I won't go blind looking at the huge tv screen. And more importantly, my blogging schedule is back to normal!

On Sunday we had spaghetti. We had given Addysen a bath before church that midmorning so my plan was to keep her nice and clean during dinner so I didn't have to give her a second bath before bed.
Yeah...right.

In the mist of getting everything on the table, I asked Chris if he would give Addysen a few bites of spaghetti to keep her quiet. What does he do? What any good father would do. He dumped a bunch of a spaghetti on her tray and let her feed herself. And feed herself she did!

She got 2 baths on Sunday but it made for some great pictures for me!

Signing more...

I love the noodle on the side of her face!

Uh-oh

We've had our computer for almost 8 years now. It will be 8 years in July. This computer has been good to us and for that we are thankful.

Tonight, after the girls were in bed, I sat down to do a little blog surfing and enjoy some quiet time. All of a sudden the screen started to fade in and out. It did this a few times and then the screen went black. Tonight, our monitor died on us.

Ugh.

My little engineer put together a make-shift monitor for the time being until we can buy a new one.

Isn't it lovely. Excuse our messy desk. I've tried to keep it clean but it's a lost cause. Any suggestions on how to get my husband to keep his paperwork organized would be greatly appreciated.
I don't know how often I will be on the computer the next few days as the screen is so large it hurts my eyes. It also does this shaky thing so all my words are bouncing around as I type.

Great for watching Twilight. Not so great for checking your email.

Just another little hiccup in our life that I wanted to make sure I documented to laugh about later. Right now it's not so funny.

Ha. Ha.

Movie Night!

We couldn't let the release of the Twilight DVD come and go without having a party to celebrate and watch the movie. It would be against all Twilight code of ethics for sure! It was fun hanging out, having a reason to wear my twilight shirt again, eat junk food, and be with friends! Plus, did I mention Christopher has finally given in to watching it with me? He is going to let down his hate for Twilight for atleast 2 hours tomorrow night!

Zoo Day

We took the girls to the zoo today. We had a coupon and only go when we have a coupon because it's so dang expensive! I was telling my friend Annie this and she hooked us up with free passes her husband had won at a work christmas party! Score! Thanks Annie! We had a great time and both girls did great. We got to the zoo just as it was opening so there was no one there and the weather was perfect. It was actually pretty chilly! All the animals were in a good mood too and it was so fun to see them out and about. If you go too late in the afternoon most of them are hiding from the heat. Can't say I blame them.

We had a great time as a family and enjoyed our once a year trip to the zoo!

I packed breakfast burritos for everyone and we ate them in the zoo.

Elodie wanted her picture taken in the clam because she said it reminded her of Ariel from Little Mermaid.

The Little People park was a HUGE hit!

Proof we were there. Atleast me since I'm always behind the camera!

We love this little serious baby!
Elodie and Chris checking out the giraffes

Elodie loved the tigers. She kept screaming LSU! LSU! LSU!

Little Addysen WAY passed her morning nap. She was excellent still. She just snuggled with her daddy and never made a peep.

Super dad.

Growing Up.

Just a few snippids of what Elodie has been up to lately.

-She is BIG into writing words out. Everyday she ask me how to spell words. And random words. I took a picture of her latest work. She wanted me to spell out KIND, FRIEND, and TAYLOR SWIFT. On the other piece of paper she wanted to spell out STOP and PEOPLE. The word above that is a bunch of letters she put together thinking she was writing a real word. She was not convinced when I told her the letters she spelt out didn't really spell out anything.

-She really wants a computer. She always wants to play with the Barbie one at Wal-Mart or Target. I would get her one but the computer is like 50 bucks and I don't think she is ready to really play with it. Maybe she is. Maybe it will have to be her ONLY birthday present from us, or one of her major presents for Christmas. Anyway, on this particular day, last Wednesday, I woke up that morning to find her like this. Using her "laptop". She was even using a small freesbie as a mouse. She kept telling me about all the games on her computer. It was pretty creative actually. Still didn't convince me that she really needs a barbie computer!

-And today, we were getting ready to meet some friends at the park this morning. It was chilly but I knew she wouldn't need long sleeves or a jacket because it was warming up. She was persistent about finding this one sweater jacket she wanted to wear to the park. I helped her look for a few minutes but when I couldn't find it I told her she wouldn't need it anyway and to not worry about it. That didn't work. She was so determined to find her sweater that she literally tore her room apart trying to find it. Literally! In the end she couldn't find it, I didn't want to help look for it because I knew she didn't need it, she was in tears, and I was threatening to leave her at home! She finally pulled herself together, decided on another jacket, and immediately took it off when we got to the park. Told you so! Now she has a mess to clean up! All for nothing!

I'm losing it!

I clean my bathrooms on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I clean my toilets on Wednesdays. Every week.

Yesterday was Monday. I cleaned my bathrooms. Today is Tuesday. This morning I woke up thinking it was Wednesday. Because I thought it was Wednesday I cleaned both bathrooms and toilets before I realized it was Tuesday. Good for my bathrooms, not so fun for me.

And since tomorrow is Wednesday and I hate getting off schedule, I will clean my bathrooms again.

Unless I forget it's Wednesday and think it's Thursday.... Are you still with me?

Please tell me I'm not the only one!

Happy St. Patricks Day!

Elodie made this cute leprechaun mask at school last week. And while I took this picture of her last Thursday, I saved it for today. She was so proud of her mask and couldn't wait to wear it for her daddy and her grama and papa when they came to visit this last weekend. We all took turns wearing it and getting a good laugh out of it!

So here's wishing you your pot of gold! Or just a bunch of good luck!

Weekend with Papa and Grama

Chris' parents came to town for the weekend and stayed with us. We always enjoy so much when they come and spend time with us here. Elodie especially loves the VIP treatment that only grandparents can give.

Friday night we had our babysitting swap so we dropped the girls off and went to a movie and to dinner with Chris' parents. We hadn't had a date night with them in a LONG time. Took me back to way back when Chris and I first started dating. Uh...1997! We went on a date with Chris' parents to Red Lobster. And not because we had to either!

Saturday we loaded up and went to Phoenix to a flea market/swap meet place Barbara and Marshall like to go to.

Sunday, since we have afternoon church, was spent lounging around in the morning. I only caught one picture of our weekend and it was this one. Elodie and her Papa enjoying the springtime sun while Elodie counted her money in the driveway.

We love you Papa and Grama. Thanks for coming and staying with us!

We called the 80's...

and they said she could totally rock the side ponytail. And rock it she did! I don't ever remember looking this cute with a side ponytail.

Still persistent

She has to be reminded to chew with her mouth closed....

She has to be reminded to flush the toilet and turn the light out....

She has to be reminded to use her inside voice. ...

One thing she doesn't forget is blessings for her little brother.

It's pretty impressive that she is still on this brother kick. There is not a prayer passed that she doesn't say "thank you for my baby brother to come"

While at the dinner table this week she announced she had a dream the night before and Jesus was in it. To which I asked "Really? What was Jesus doing in your dream?" Her reply, "Giving me my baby brother."

And just last night before bed, I was sitting at the computer and she came up to me, patted my belly, and said "Mom, I can feel my baby brother in your belly."

What are we going to do with her.

Park

Still soaking up these amazing Spring days. It won't be long before it's too hot to do anything except swim.

For now, Spring.

Notice the battle wound on her cheek? I got called to serve in the nursery and within 5 minutes on our first day (last Sunday) she got smacked in the cheek when another little baby snatched a toy out of her hand. Nice right?

What I love most...

about taking pictures for people who ASK me to take their pictures is...

1. They don't roll their eyes, fake smile, or breath deep sighs when I take more than one picture per pose. You know who you are.

2. They accept that when I say "ONE MORE" I really don't mean one more. Silly people who think that's really what I mean.

and

3. They don't mind me dragging them back to a spot to take one last picture even when I've loaded up and we are all ready to go.

Thanks Tiffany and Jake for humoring me. I had so much fun with your family.

Addysen and Graycie's Birthday Party

Good friends, perfect weather, (although it was a little too windy!), and yummy cake! The best way to celebrate 2 little girls first birthdays!

Too much fun, too much cake!
