The girls and I tried to stay super busy while Chris was gone.
We rode bikes. In our pajamas of course.
Played My Little Pony's. Who knew coloring and cutting out the ponies and then playing with them would be so fun. Who needs the real thing
We may or may not have hit Sonic 3 times.
And gone to Hobby Lobby twice.
I may or may not have watched Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse after the girls went to bed. Not all in one night. I'm not that crazy. Is it November yet?
And I may or may not have been responsible for this. It will wash off with a rain storm right?
We met some other moms and kids from our ward while the guys were at the Priesthood Session. And of course it made me miss my friends in Az and our "Meet at Barro's while the guys are at the Priesthood Session" tradition.
Evyn Kate and I stayed in our pajamas all day on Sunday.
I tried to get the older girls on board. Addysen had other plans and was going for a Pinkalicious look.
We watched this.
We started a halloween craft.
Elodie wrote a 4 chapter book about her American Girl Doll Emma.
We talked to Grandmas and facetime'd with Jacob, Isaac, and Graycie before Chris left their house. Sniff. Sniff.
We practiced shoelace tying. Elodie just got new shoes. The shoe store had them without laces but not in her size. Bummer. Laces are such a pain!
and
We snuggled.
The End. Tomorrow. Chris' weekend

Weekend with Papa and Grama
Chris' parents came to town for the weekend and stayed with us. We always enjoy so much when they come and spend time with us here. Elodie especially loves the VIP treatment that only grandparents can give.

Weekend Top 10
10. Nothing too exciting on Friday..we did resist the urge to eat out. Excluding my playdate with friends at the mall on Wednesday, we haven't eaten out for 12 days! May not seem like a long time but it's a big deal since we usually eat out atleast one day over the weekend! We are really proud of ourselves and it is motivating us to keep it up!
9. I was officially 17 weeks pregnant on Saturday...we go to the doctor on Friday of this week and will get an ultrasound soon after to see what the sex of the baby is! Very exciting! Elodie can't imagine the baby being anything except girl and she sais we are going to name her Sofie (my friend Stephenie has a little girl named Sofie). If you ask her what we are going to name the baby if it's a boy she tells you "but it's not..it's a girl!" And when Chris tells her that mommy has a girl and now daddy needs a boy Elodie sais "NO! I need a girl too!" It's pretty funny..I just hope she isn't too disappointed if it's not a girl! We will see!
8. Saturday in between conferences we took Elodie to Wal-Mart to pick out some flower seeds. She got this really cute Strawberry Shortcake gardening set for Easter this year and has been DYING to use it ever since! It's just now cooling off enough that we thought the flowers would actually survive...so we spent some time outside yesterday planting our seeds. Elodie has been so excited everyday to go outside and water her flowers! I just hope she can be patient enough to wait for them to bloom!
7. Speaking of outside...did anyone else spend most of their weekend outside? It was fabulous weather! We kept our back door and windows open the whole day on Sunday! It was fabulous! We are starting to remember why it is that we like Arizona....just a little though..it could still be cooler!
6. While Christopher was at the Priesthood session Saturday evening, Elodie and I met up with my dear friend Randa for her birthday! Big 27! We met up at the Cheesecake Factory along with Randa's sister LeeAnn and their cousin Kristy! These 3 girls and I go way back! Not only have I known and been best friends with Randa since 2nd grade, all 4 of us were roommates for a year at Ricks College! I was introduced to Kristy at Ricks and we hit it off immediately! We could have been sister in laws but it didn't work on either side of the family! Good times! We all live here in Arizona and I wish we didn't have such crazy schedules and we could get together more often! Such great girls and I love them!
Happy Birthday Randa! We hope we made your day a little more special!
5. Speaking of The Cheesecake Factory..the last 2 times we have gone I have been super disappointed in the food. Maybe because the last 2 times I went I have been pregnant but I don't think that's all...this time I got a simple fettucine alfredo thinking it would be like 10 times better than the Olive Garden..it wasn't....the noodles were spinach noodles and the chicken was poached with salt and pepper for seasoning! Really not impressed! The only thing that perked things up was the strawberry lemonade and the strawberry cheesecake I brought home to share with Chris! And the fact that I brought the fettucine home and Christopher thought it was good!
4. When we were all home again Chris, Elodie, and I watched the LSU football game! Holy Heart Attack! LSU definitely about gave us one! They were losing to Florida the whole game! It wasn't until the final quarter with like 4 minutes to go did they finally get their butts in gear and win!! It was definitely stressful but we were happy! LSU is officially ranked #1 in the country! Not that we really needed a number to know that but the number is a nice touch! Go Tigers!
3. Sunday morning Christopher made pancakes for us! I was super impressed by this mickey mouse pancake he made for Elodie...Chris didn't think much of it but I thought it was cute!
2.Conference was fabulous! Very uplifting and motivating! I appreciate Tivo even more now because I dosed off a few times....but since we recorded it I was able to rewind the parts I missed! The crazy thing about it is 6 months will pass before we know it and it will be conference again!
1. Enjoyed a nice dinner with our friends The Hamblins Sunday evening. We enjoy their company and are so happy to have them as our friends!

Weekend Update
It doesn't take much for us to have a nice weekend..it usually includes friends and some much needed relaxation at home! The cherry on top was that I haven't worked since last Wednesday! It's been so nice to have so much time off but pretty pathetic of me considering I only work an average of three days a week to begin with!
Friday, Christopher was done with work around noon and we just hung out at home....my energy level as of late has been in the negatives so I'm pretty content laying in my spot on the couch! Friday evening we headed over to some friends house for a pool party and pizza! We thought maybe we would get rained out but the nice thing about Arizona rain is it comes and goes very fast! And the best part was it cooled down a bunch and we really enjoyed swimming! All the kids had a great time and I think we accomplished the goal of wearing them out!
Saturday morning was book club with the girls. Ever since we got banned from Relief Society we have started going to a resteraunt for our book club discussions. Saturday morning we went for brunch at this little cute place in Mesa. Good food too! I was afraid my morning sickness would get in the way of enjoying the food but it didn't and I was happy for that! We had a great little discussion and spent the rest of our time gabbing away! Our friend Tina (the one in purple) who just moved out of the ward was in town for the last time..she and her family are moving to Illinios on Wednesday and wanted one last trip to the valley before they left. We love Tina and will miss her in our little group....we will have to figure out some kind of webcam for book club now!
Saturday afternoon was lazy...we did venture out in the evening to go to Applebee's but after a few bites I was done! Very annoying! I'm grateful that I haven't been throwing up but I'm still in a funk..if I don't eat I'm sick, If I eat too fast I'm sick and if I stuff my face I'm sick..I usually have to leave my plate half full to keep from making myself want to throw up! Even if I'm still hungry!
With the exception of a few meetings on Sunday we spent our afternoon hanging out as a family! The End!

Weekend Update
Friday was playgroup, I blogged about that on Friday but here is another picture to enjoy...
This is of Elodie and her littly buddy Isaac..they are exactly one year apart, Elodie being the older one....
After playgroup, Christopher came home and we decided to venture out and try Cafe Rio for lunch. I had never been before but I had heard my cousin Tania and her friend Ashley rave about the place. Since we have a few here in Arizona, I thought it would be fun to check it out. I called Tania for tips on what to get and she steered us in the right direction..we both got salads and they were awesome! Definitely on our favorite list! Thanks for the suggestions Tania! We are excited to go back and try the burritoes too! Unfortunately, there is no picture of our salad..I thought that would be a little mean!
After lunch we headed home so I could start on my cake for Sarah's shower the next day. We spent the rest of the evening at home hanging out as a family. I was up until about 1am finishing the cake and getting the other food ready for the shower. Thankfully, it was 5 of us hosting this shower so we were able to spread out the to do list!
Saturday morning I was up bright and early to go help a friend clean her house out. My friend Melissa and I headed over around 9am and I stayed for an hour cleaning the fridge out, wiping out closets, and window sills....all the fun stuff. I hurried home to clean up and load the car up to head over to Sarah's for the shower. We were planning on getting there an hour early to set up but because of the cleaning I was a little late..I wasn't planning on bringing Elodie with me but then she asked if she could go with me to see Mrs. Sarah's baby and it made my heart smile...I couldn't turn her down. And besides, the girls have to stick together and it was a great chance to dress her up! She looked so cute..don't you think?
...everything for the shower went great. We had enough food, the cake turned out cute....
it's suppose to be a baby sleeping underneath a tent but I didn't really like the tent...everyone else thought it was so cute but you know how you are your own worse critic..yeah, that's me. And Christopher is a close second when it comes to my cakes....that's the downside to marrying an engineer. I stayed at Sarah's from 10:30 to a little after 2pm..long afternoon! Sarah scored a bunch of stuff and I know she had a great time! This is a picture of all of us who hosted the shower..with the exception of one of Sarah's sister in laws who had to leave early. Sarah's the prego one! ;) She and I were visiting teaching companions for 2 years while they lived in our ward. We hit it off instantly..both scrapbookers and we even took our cake classes together. When they moved out, they bought a house in the subdivision where our house was being built. We were excited to have them as our neighbors but then plans changed for our family and we ended up backing out of the house. Bummer!
Before I left for the shower Chris asked me to take a picture of the house..we hadn't been out there since it had been completed so it was kinda exciting to see the finished product. It made me really sad to see the house..I didn't think it would as it's been since November since we backed out. It was still sad to see something that was suppose to be ours...another family is living there now and if they were peaking out the window they were probably wondering why in the heck I was taking a picture of their house.....closure my friends! ;) It just goes to show that we can plan for things but it doesn't always work out in the end. I know it was the best decision to not buy our house but it's still sad to know it could of been us moving into that house....and all the things on the inside are things we picked out for our family..oh well, it's not the end for us.....we won't be renters forever!
Saturday night we met up with our friends Mace and Melissa for dinner at Barro's.....love that place! We have pretty much converted all of our friends to Barro's..it's simply the best! After Barro's we went and got snowcones at this place called Bahama Bucks...so good! All the snowcones came with these cute little umbrellas..they were a hit with the kids and Elodie just thought she looked so pretty with one in her hair! And of course she did!
We had a great time with Mace and Melissa and the kids always have a great time together too!
Sunday was a whole lot of church and relaxing..since it was fast sunday, Christopher had to stay later than usual to count tithing. He wasn't home until almost 3:30pm so it gave us a great opportunity to fast! We enjoyed the rest of the evening at home gearing up for a new week!
Don't these 2 look so relaxed!?! It was a great weekend!
As for today, we started swim lessons this morning..everyday for 2 weeks. Elodie was a little hesitant but a few minutes into the class she was enjoying herself. No pictures since I have to get in the water with her..I'm hoping Christopher will come one day to take some cute shots for me.....he just rolled his eyes when I told him that but I know he will do it for me!

Long Weekend Update
So I don't know what happened after Wednesday....the week just flew by and now here we are almost 7 days later! I had to blow the dust off of the old blog!
Thursday-lets see if I can remember that far back...oh yes, Wal-Mart...our plan as of Thursday was to go up to Snowflake on Saturday and Sunday....so we needed to get the back tires replaced-it felt like one of the tires was warped. Since they were under warrenty Christopher told me I could do it and it would be no problem. Normally, like any woman, I hate going to a "guy place" and pretending I know what I'm talking about....I have to take Chris' explanation word for word and recite it to myself so I know exactly what to say when the mechanic ask what the problem is. So anyway, drop the car off, start my grocery shopping and the mechanic calls......"um, Mrs. Yarn, your tires are balding because of the struts so they aren't under warrenty anymore!" UGH!! Kidding right? WRONG! So I lug my cart full of groceries back over to the tire and lube and the confusion begins. The last time we got the tires looked at at Wal-Mart they told us our struts needed to be replaced...so a month or so later we did just that...well, it was more like 5 or 6 months later but that's not the issue...since we did get them replaced the tires should still be under warrenty. But Walmart needed to see the reciept for the struts and of course it wasn't in the glove box....it was at home filed safely in our filing cabinet. They say, you need to go get it so we can finish..and of course my car is up in the air, I've got a cart full of groceries and I'm lugging around my 2 year old who insist on walking (she always sais when we go to Wal-Mart or Target "We don't need a cart Mommy"). THANKFULLY, Christopher is just up the street, I call him and he goes home, gets the reciept, and meets me at Wal-Mart....immediately I'm ready to turn this little project over to him. Oh, and of course they don't have our tires in stock so we had to upgrade and pay the difference. It was crazy (I spent a total of like 3 hours at Wal-Mart) but done and that's all that matters....Thursday night I worked....
Friday made up for Thursday's craziness....Christopher worked until 11am and we met up at the movie theater to see "Pirates of the Carribean" We swaped babysitting with our friends Mace and Melissa...the movie was awesome but we felt like it left you really hanging..and the rumor is there won't be a 4th movie...who knows....it was still super good so go see it if you haven't. Heads up..it's a LONG movie! 3 hours long! We also found out Friday morning that we weren't going to Snowflake...Chris dad and Heath were playing in a band so they weren't even going to be home to watch the UFC fight....
Friday afternoon we had Mace and Melissa's 2 boys while they went to see Pirates..Elodie loves company and they all played really well together.
When Mace and Melissa came to get the boys we were all standing outside talking. The kids were just hanging out and we had no problems. Then Elodie went inside, turned around and shut the door....which meant we were locked out of our house! Thankfully, because we are just renting, it only took a phone call and about 20 minutes to get the spare key to us.....Elodie was flipping out the whole time while we were trying to get her to open the door for us...she just kept sayin "let me out Mommy!" When we finally got back inside, Elodie had given up. She was sitting at our dining room table with her arms folded on the table and her head down. It was a sad site and she was happy to see us. Hopefully she learned her lesson on not shutting doors...or maybe we need to learn to unlock doors when we are outside! We were thankful that Mace and Melissa were still at our house when we got locked out because we were able to use their phone..otherwise we would have been stuck. After Mace and Melissa left we went to dinner at Barro's.....
Saturday morning I worked. I wasn't suppose to work because technically we were going out of town but I was accidentally scheduled so I went in for 3 hours to help out. When I got out of work Chris called to tell me he and Elodie were up the street without a vehicle..my heart immediately sank! My first thought..car trouble! But thankfully that wasn't the case. Apparently, Christopher had a spur of the moment urge to get a new cd player put in his truck so he could attach some new speakers. He had dropped his truck off at Circuit City and he and Elodie were hanging out at all the little shops connected to Circuit City. I met them at Wendy's for lunch, we hung out at WalMart, went to Old Navy...the truck still wasn't done so we decided to head home and go back to pick up the truck after Elodie's nap. We picked up the truck at 5pm, made a quick trip to Costco for some last minute things for our Monday Barbeque and then came home....so exciting I know! Saturday night Christopher bought the UFC fight over the computer and we watched it together...I actually really like watching them....judge me if you like..
Sunday was church, did home teaching with Christopher since his companion just moved out of the ward. Chris only has one family right now because his other 2 families moved out this month too...and his one family happens to be Mace and Melissa.....we enjoy hanging out with them so it wasn't really home teaching...with a short spiritual thought.
Monday was so fun! We decided a while ago that we wanted to have a barbeque and invite a few families over for dinner. Everybody we invited came (with the exception of one couple who were out of town) and we all had a great time! We provided all the meat-alittle overboard with hamburgers, hotdogs, ribs, and sausage- and everyone brought a different side. It was fun...and the weather was so nice in the evening that we were able to keep the whole thing outside. We set up a sprinkler and pool for the kids and they all had a blast! In all we had 12 adults-including 3 pregnant ladies, and 9 kids! It was nuts but fun! I love playing hostess but find that you are the last one to eat and constantly worrying about something. I do love hanging out with friends and we did just that! We should really do it more often!
Happy Memorial Day! Hope everyone else had a great one too!
And now here we are on Tuesday, Chris is back to work, I'm regrouping from all the company..I have little feet prints all through my house from the kids swimming....we are taking Elodie to see Shrek 3 tonight...the ASU campus was offering tickets for $3 a person and Elodie was free! Can't beat that! Tomorrow is Book Club here at my house, Thursday starts Summer Movies, and this weekend is Sarah's shower...somewhere in there I need to contact the sisters under my visiting teaching route (I'm a VT Supervisor), get the food for Book Club, make a cake for Sarah's shower, make pasta salad and buy stuff for a chocolate fountain also for Sarah's shower, work, and get a gift card for our friend Jen who's birthday was on Sunday....crazy week! I guess if it were any other way it wouldn't be as fun!

Weekend Update...
In order to keep you as up to date as possible.....here are my random thoughts from the weekend!
Friday, Elodie and I woke up bright and early and headed to our subdivision park for playgroup. We had a pretty good turn out- the usuals.
Christopher has been working back at the Schneider's and since they only work half days on Friday, I was spoiled to have Christopher home shortly after playgroup.
We headed to Barro's for lunch (best pizza ever-sorry folks, Arizona family chain) and then Christopher ventured out to the mall with me (GASP!) so I could use a coupon I got from Express...ah...I love that place!
Friday night I worked, which is actually nice because it keeps us from spending more money..which means I'm actually making a profit when I work instead of making up for money already spent. But since my money is our Disneyland fund...it's really not making up for anything!
Saturday morning I worked AGAIN! And again, less money spent!
Christopher's parents were in town so after lunch we met up with them at Ikea and then headed over to the mall for more shopping (thankfully we didn't have time to hit the GAP outlet-otherwise it would have been more money spent!) and we went to see "The Robinsons"...or Meet the Robinson's...can't really remember the name. Either way, we saw it in 3-D and it was so awesome..I was a little worried that Elodie wouldn't like the movie as much because she had to wear these glasses but since she loves to wear her own glasses she left them on the whole time! We really loved the movie and if you haven't seen it yet I definitely recommend it. P.S- the 3-D version is 2 bucks extra! As if movie tickets weren't already expensive enough....$9 a person..it's insane! It's the whole reason we hardly ever go! Anyway, hopefully I didn't just talk you out of it! Great family movie and a really sweet ending!
After the movie we headed over to Famous Dave's for dinner. It's a barbeque resteraunt and even though I don't really like barbeque all that much, it was really good. I was definitely surprised! We said goodbye to Chris' parents and got home late!
Sunday morning was Stake Conference....our stake is so big that we have to meet in two different stake centers and they have to video it and transmit it to the other stake building..crazy huh? Last year we were at the stake center where we could only watch it on the big screen..this year we were live. Way easier to concentrate on the speakers.....even still, the last speaker was a member of the 70 and with all due respect the stake presidency gave him WAY too much time to speak...he must have been up there for atleast a hour! It was insane and was super hard to concentrate! Ugh.....overall ;) It was a good stake conference. Except at the point where the little grandma next to us thought it would be a good idea to give Elodie a measuring tape she had in her purse..it was the loudest thing ever and when we took it away from Elodie and gave it back to the little grandma, Elodie threw the HUGEST fit....I know this little old grandma was trying to be nice but we intentionally don't bring things for Elodie to play with...she gets a drink, a fruit snack, a pen, and gum for in case of emergency situations.....that's it....I don't ever bring a huge bag of toys and it works really well for her! Elodie was fine after a few minutes but that grandma kept leaning over and telling me it's okay for her to play with it....uh..NO! And by grandma I don't mean Elodie's real grandma..just some random lady sitting next to me!
After conference Chris parents came back over and spent the afternoon with us. I love when we get them one on one..I know Elodie loves that and we enjoy their company too. Here are a few pictures I snapped just before Chris' parents left. You can tell that Elodie was just thrilled to get her picture taken...she didn't want to wear the bandana but I convinced her for one picture and she agreed. Wasn't exactly the picture I was hoping for but atleast she is looking at the camera!
Barbara had just gotten a new phone and she was programming it our house...Elodie had to be in the mix so she ran and got her phone to copy grama! And this one- Elodie and her papa....
So that was our weekend. Always nice to enjoy the weekend with family!
Encore- me and Elodie this morning playing around with my camera and the timer....nothing better than hanging out at home just the 2 of us! Monday's are our official stay at home, play catch up from the weekend, no need to fix Elodie's hair day!

LONG Weekend Update!
So I don't really know where I've been....last week FLEW by so fast!! So I need to start with Thursday....
Christopher has been talking about purchasing a truck...he has been looking for a while now and we both agreed it was about time we bought a second vehicle. One vehicle has been working for us but we were really just enjoying no car payment more than anything. That died fast as the summer is fast approaching and if we didn't get a second vehicle I was going to be stranded at home everyday of the week.since the ASU bus doesn't run as often in the summer Christopher would have to take the car to and from work. And since he isn't taking in summer classes it was silly for him to get on the ASU shuttle that takes him to campus and then get on another bus that takes him to work....our only other option was to take him to the mall everyone morening and catch a city bus that takes him to downtown Phoenix. I wouldn't mind that but it runs at like 7 in the morning and the mall is about 20 minutes from our house. Not to mention waking Elodie up....doesn't sound like fun to me. So Thursday afternoon I picked Chris up from work and we headed out to this huge used car extravaganza and Chris bought a 2000 Chevy s10...fits us all, fits our needs, and we are happy with our purchase! Christopher is on cloud 9 and it's nice knowing that we both have our own cars again....
Friday was SO fun....I met up with my dear best friend Randa and we did some decorating around her house...I made her this board for her bedroom that sais "Today's Test is Tomorrow's Testimony". Randa absolutely loved it! I also made her this board...
We did this board for a Relief Society craft group. I made one for my house too but in burgandy. So cute! I love them both and so did she! We spent some the afternoon putting her new decorations and then we headed over to the Scottsdale mall to met up with Christopher and have some yummy Paradise Bakery! Love that place...if you have never been and there is one close to your house...GO! It's fabulous. A little pricey for a bakery style resteraunt but the food is fab and so worth it! Believe me! Anyway, after lunch, Christopher took Elodie home and me and Randa did some shopping! Some much needed female bonding at Express, Gap, The Limited...it was great and we were both in need of some new clothes! I haven't been to the mall without Elodie in a long time so it was SO nice to get out of the house and shop without her. Not that Elodie isn't great but as a mom we all need a couple of hours with our girlfriends to make us feel like girls again! You know what I mean! I dropped Randa off at her house around 6pm and headed home. When I got home we decided to run over to Ikea and get Elodie a new bed. We have known for a while what bed we wanted...it matches the dresser we bought her a couple of weeks ago. We just were putting it off because Elodie is still in her crib and hasn't figured out how to climb out yet...and we aren't planning on teaching her anytime soon! But with my mom coming in a few days we decided it was time and we didn't want Mom sleeping on the couch like she has in the past! So we bought the bed....it was a little pricey but this bed is FABULOUS! It serves so many purposes and believe me she will be sleeping in this same bed when she is 16 years old! Atleast that is the plan! It starts out as a twin bed but has a trundle underneath that converts into a king size bed when you open it up! It also has 3 huge, deep storage drawers underneath and will be great for extra bedding, blankets, clothes, books, whatever! I am so pleased with our purchase and Elodie is super excited! (Pictures in just a minute-let me get to Saturday first) So we came home in our new truck with our new bed, which we wouldn't have been able to do in the civic so already the truck is paying itself off! ;) Christopher stayed up late putting part of the bed together and that was our Friday night! Oh and we also found this really cute side table for Randa'a living room at Ikea. She was looking for one at the mall earlier but we got sidetracked by all the clothes...20 bucks and it fits perfect. She had been looking for one and I thought it would be great for her room. We dropped it off on our way home and I was right..she loved it! Randa's cousin Kristy Lee (and our old Ricks roommate) was in town visiting so we stood in the parking lot of Randa's apartment complex and chatted for over an hour! Even Chris had a great time! He's known Kristy since he got off his mission so he enjoys her company too!
Saturday morning we woke and Christopher headed over to the church to help clean up and play basketball! Me and Elodie hung out and cleaned up...I made these cute explosion boxes for a craft day we are doing in Relief Society..need to take a picture so I'll post that later. Stopped by the scrapbooking store and the bow store for ribbon for my friend Brooke. Her baby was being blessed on Sunday and although I made her a bunch of bows..they were all too big. So I made her a new one that fit little Ainsley's head perfectly. Almost too perfectly!
We spent the afternoon putting Elodie's bed together and then headed out to find the perfect bedding for her new bed. And guess where I found it...WAL MART! Of all places...I checked a couple of different places but no one had what I was looking for..until I got to Wal-Mart. Good old walmart..their up there with Costco! ;) So here is the bed in all it's glory! I LOVE IT! And it really brings Elodie's room together so nicely! Love it! Love it! Her room looks so girly and perfect just for her! I'm also pleased that when we move the only thing we will need to do is paint her walls. I will post some more pictures of her room later so you can get an idea of what it looks like. I also wanted to scrapbook it so I need to anyway!
Sunday was spent going to church and enjoying some relaxing time at home. We had such a great weekend and we are pretty much ready for my mom! Alot to do though..clean and organize so she has a place for everything. Not to mention that we will be gone to Utah all of next week! Fun stuff! I'm excited to see all of our family and friends that live out there. Not excited about the drive and leaving Chris behind. But the company will be nice and Elodie will have her trusty DVD player! Happy Monday Everyone!

Weeken Update
Well, it's Monday again and like always the weekend flew by!! I worked Friday night but was off Saturday....we thought it would be a quiet one until we got a call at about 10am that Chris' family was in the valley for the weekend. They were planning on coming this next weekend but at the last minute changed their mine. No Biggie....
We headed out Saturday morning to look at some townhouses in downtown Phoenix. They are putting in a light rail that will run right pass thes townhouses Christopher had seen and will drop off right at the front door of his office building. Ideally we would like to be close to the light rail so Christopher doesn't have a long commute to work and we don't have to buy a second vehicle. We are loving the no car payment right now and want to squeeze as much out of that benefit as we can! ;) These townhouses Christopher has seen were advertising from the low $120's so we thought we would check them out for purchase either at the end of May or at the end of the year. We are in no hurry to purchase right now but the more we know the better off we will be when we do make a purchase. I'm not all for the idea of buying a townhouse as it won't give us much space and we won't have access to a backyard for Elodie. Our intentions if we do buy a townhouse is to live in it for a year or 2 then either sell it or rent it out as an investment. I'm not completely sold on the idea but Christopher is all for it!
So we get out there and the townhouses were just recently built so they are gorgeous! BUT, we would need a 2 bedroom atleast and the largest one they had was a little over 1000 square feet (cringe!) and it's $250,000!! $250,000!!! Of course they advertised their lowest priced townhouse at $120 but we should have known better. There is a reason everyone lives our where we are now and commutes in to the city...It's because you can buy a house that is 2000 sq. feet with a yard for the same price! We took a look at the model anyway and it was definitely nice but small...would work for just the 3 of us but what happens when number 2 comes along? All things to think about! And I hate the idea of buying something now and then being stuck trying to sell it! I would much rather buy something (A HOUSE!) that I know I will live in for the next 5 or so years!! I'm willing to meet Chris somewhere but I'm just not all for this. My options at this point are have Christopher commute an hour each way and be in traffic with lunatics but own a house OR live closer into town in a smaller house with no yard but have Chris home in like 20 minutes each day and not have the stress of driving in traffic everyday? What would you do?
After that little adventure we headed further into town to eat lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe. Neither one of us had eaten there before so we were excited to try something new. I had delivered a cake there once but obviously didn't stay for the food! It was super good! After lunch we stopped by Christopher's office building to see where he works. Picture this...a 30 floor building..Christopher works on the 22nd floor and their break room is on the 8th floor! Funny huh? I walked in the building and said to Christopher "We aren't at the Schneider's anymore!"
It was nice to be able to see where Christopher is always spending his time! He is still adjusting but really likes the experience he is gaining there.
After that we met up with Chris' family to go to the Arizona Science Center to see the new BodyWorlds Exhibit...if you have heard of it it is totally awesome! REAL bodies that have been frozen and displayed for everyone to see...I don't do the exhibit any justice. It was super fascinating and crazy to see! The body is an amazing thing and it was educational to see close up. We even saw ALL the stages of a baby, all the way up to 40 weeks! ...I've seen it in a book and the posters at my OB's office but never in real life! It was kinda sad thought because you know that these babies were someone's! And they all looked perfectly healthy..made you wonder what went wrong! It was wild and I definitely recommend it if it comes to your area! Note to anyone: Don't bring a stoller (we didn't thank heavens, it was packed and I don't know how we would have gotten it throught) and don't go on a Saturday afternoon! :) We waited forever! Thankfully Elodie is the best toddler ever and she was amazingly patient and good the entire time!
Elodie had a birthday party to go to for her friend Isaac so we split up and headed back to our house. Isaac lives in our subdivision.....it was a fun hour....after that we headed back out to meet up with Chris' family at Outback for dinner! We forked out some major dough this weekend. Between Hard Rock Cafe', the exhibit, and Outback I won't mind never eating out again! It makes you sick to think how much money you can spend at a resteraunt! Thankfully it's not something we do every weekend and it was a special occasion with Chris' parents in town. We justified it that way! :)
Sunday was our treat at church..we only had to go to sacrament. It was crazy to have all that extra time to relax at home..by the end of the day it didn't even feel like we had gone to church that morning.
Now we are into Spring Break. Christopher is working full time this week and it will be so nice to have him home at a decent hour. I always get spoiled when he doesn't have school..then I get a slap in the face when he has to go back...one more semester..one more semester! Our friends Derek and Audrey (Derek is in his last semester of law school) are trying to talk Christopher into going to law school! AH! Not a chance.....Christopher said the money was swaying him! Could you imagine! 3 more years of school! Cringe! I couldn't do it! I would die!
On that note..have a great week!

Weekend Update
We were up in Snowflake for the weekend...we left Saturday morning, stayed in a hotel, and left Sunday evening. Amanda and Heath's new baby Anistyn was being blessed on Sunday and we were so happy that we got to be there for that. She is so tiny! It's crazy how fast you forget how tiny they come into the world!
This was the first time we stayed in a Hotel when we went up to Snowflake and I think we finally caught on to something! We usually stay at Grandma Brewer's House but with the weather as cold as it has been and the fact that Grandma's bedrooms are FREZING! We have learned our lesson the hard way! Lots of sleepless nights with Elodie!
We all got a good nights sleep in the hotel (Elodie snores! We never knew!) and it was nice having our own space to retire to! :)
Another lesson learned the hard way is we FINALLY got Elodie a dvd player for the car! She does pretty good but it is a 3 hour trip and the last hour or so is super hard for her....for all of us really! It was so nice to pop in a Strawberry Shortcake or Charlie and Lola and have Elodie occupied for an hour or so..it makes for a nicer trip for all of us and we can't figure out why we didn't get one sooner!
Amanda and Heath got Christopher a birthday cake while we were up there. Since none of Chris' family would be down for the big 29 they did it while we were up there. It was funny because they put trick candles in the cake! Hee! Hee! :) Christopher figured it out pretty quick but it was still funny!
Anistyn looked so pretty in her blessing dress and we enjoyed our trip with family! I know Christopher's parents are coming down in 2 weeks but I'm not sure when we will get back up to Snowflake!
Happy Family!
Elodie loves the new baby! She kept giving her kisses and asking to hold her!It was really cute but not convincing enough to have a second baby! :)
Proud Parents....they say they are done but one can hope they keep the spotlight!
Cousins!
Kolton (12) Anistyn (7 weeks)
Elodie Marie with no shoes on...I bought her a new pair for this dress and when we got to Snowflake we realized that the shoes were 2 left feet! GRR! And the girl at Payless even looked at them!! She went to church with no shoes! :)Atwood Kids: Kolton, Aubrey, Bridger, Brenner, and Anistyn
