The girls were so excited for the first day of school!
With our Back to School dinner, Father's Blessings, and new clothes fashion show under our belt we were ready for today!
The girls had a great day.
Elodie knew all the kids in her class except 1. And the only reason she didn't know the one boy is because he was new.
Addysen, on the other hand, was new to this school. She always knew that we were going to switch her to Cortina after kindergarten but she was still nervous about being somewhere new. She knows all the little friends in her primary class that go to Cortina and with Elodie there too she knew a lot of kids at the school. She has 3 kids from her primary class in her 1st grade class and she was so excited about that. Even though they are all boys! Addysen has such a fun personality and we weren't worried at all about her making new friends. When she got home this afternoon she told me immediately "Mom, I made so many new friends today!"
I'm so excited for the girls and this new school year. I dislike that Elodie is in 5th grade! I remember 5th grade! But I'm still super excited for her and all the fun things she will learn and do this year! It's hard to be too sad when they are so excited!

Happy Last Day of School!!!
We did it! We got through another school year! So exciting! I love having my girls home and I'm so excited for Summer! I can't believe Elodie will be in 5th grade and Addysen will be a grown up 1st grader!!
My "Welcome Summer" banner went so much smoother this year than last! It helps when your neighbor comes and helps you!
Summer is so fun! I can't wait to plan out our Summer fun list and get started on Summer goals and traditions!

Daddy/Daughter Sock Hop
Elodie had a Daddy/Daughter Sock Hop at school. She was so excited to take her dad on a date. Originally I wasn't planning on going all out with an outfit for Elodie but when I found this super cute tutorial for a poodle skirt I knew she needed it! And she loves it! She says she wants to be a 50's girl for Halloween but we will see!
Chris and Elodie had a great evening. After the dance Christopher took Elodie out for ice-cream. She came home so happy she got to spend the evening with her dad!

Back to School Dinner 2013!
We had our Back to School Dinner last night!! I absolutely love this idea and so happy we made this into a tradition.
Because the girls were starting school on 2 different days I decided to make things difficult and do 2 back to school dinners. One for Addysen and one for Elodie. The only difference between the two dinners is both girls got to pick what they wanted to eat. Addysen chose Panda Express and Elodie picked the same meal from last back to school. Tortellini. Which oddly enough, I hadn't made since last years Back to School dinner...
So these pictures are a combination of both nights instead of a post for each.

Addysen's First Day of Kindergarten
Addysen started kindergarten today! She has been so excited for this day!
We made the decision to put Addysen at a neighboring school that offered half day kindergarten. Addysen still naps often during the week and if she doesn't nap she will take a rest and relax on the couch. All day kindergarten was just too much for her right now.
The school Elodie goes to doesn't offer half day kindergarten so while it was sad to not put her at the same school as Elodie and alot of her friends at church, this was the best decision for now. She will go to Elodie's school starting in 1st grade.
The best part about being at this other school is she gets to be with her bestie Grayce! It's so fun to watch these girls grow up together!
Addysen had a great first day. She was so excited about being in the classroom and asked me to leave!
I love this age. I love everything she will learn this year and how much she will grow! It's hard to be sad watching her get older when everything is so exciting for her!
