Addysen's FIRST Dance Recital...

Man o man! I am trying so hard to get back in to the swing of blogging and it is so hard! Not sure where my motivation for daily journaling went but I need to find it ASAP! Atleast before all the pregnancy rumors start flying around!

Anyway...

Addysen Whitney and her little Bestie, Grayce, have been taking a dance class this for the last few months. They have both loved it and it's been a fun "in addition to" activity for the girls to do together.

{Elodie would have done dance as well but we had conflicts with an after school art class, activity days, and her daily piano practice (that she may or may not be slacking on and can't do anything else until she gets that into her daily schedule) However, after seeing Addysen's performance she really wants to take dance next year and I'm thinking we can squeeze it in}

Friday, May 3rd, was the girls dance recital. Addysen had been so excited for her recital and she totally rocked both routines! She was right in front and did all the moves with a smile on her face. To say she was in heaven is an understatement! The girl was born to be on stage!!

Grandma and Grandpa Yarn came for support and we all enjoyed being entertained!

Potty Training...

I'm not one to flood the interweb with loads of potty pictures. However, a few, tasteful, shots must be documented. This will be the last you hear of potty talk on this blog...

A few weeks ago Evyn Kate started crying really hard when she needed to go #2. And then she would scream even louder until you changed her diaper. We could tell she was recognizing the feeling of needing to go and she wasn't liking the feeling once she went.

A few days later Christopher caught her at the right time and instead of waiting it out, he put her on the potty and she went #2. Since then she has been successfully going atleast once a day on the potty. She will tell us when she starts to feel like she needs to go. Which can be annoying since it will take a few trys on the potty before she actually goes.

She is still 100% in a diaper but we talk about it all the time and she has had very few accidents since we started.

It's always a slow and sometimes frustrating process but we are letting Evyn take the lead on this one for now.

If nothing else, she looks so cute sitting on the potty!

Big Day for Addysen!

Chris has been working with Addysen for a few weeks to get her to ride her bike without training wheels. She has been ready for a while-most of the time when she rides her bike her training wheels don't even touch the ground! But, it had become a safety net for her and anytime Chris would take them off, she would freak out! Let's just say there were a lot of tears in the last few weeks!

But she finally got it. And as soon as she figured it out she took off! We are so proud of her and you can tell from the pictures, she is very proud of herself too!

Adventures at Claire's...

I can't remember if I had to wait until I was 8 or if I chose to wait until I was 8. Regardless, I was 8 when I got my ears pierced so that is what we decided to do with our girls.

Elodie talked about it for weeks leading up to her birthday! She was so excited to finally get her ears pierced.

The weekend after her Baptism was when we decided to take her in. I especially wanted to do it while my mom was still her.

We were really proud of Elodie. She never backed out, hopped right in to the chair, and only cried a little bit right after it was done. And even that I think she cried because of relief! It did help that they did both ears at the same time.

She looks so fun in her earrings and she is so excited to go shopping for more earrings once her 6 weeks is up.

I'm thinking a Claire's gift card in her stocking will be so fun!

Graycie and her mom came along for extra support!
 Looking brave!
Her smile went from brave to fake as soon as she sat in the chair!
 Deep Breaths.
 Marking...
Dad stepped in to make sure they are even.
Addysen definitely not on board. She kept saying over and over again that she was never getting her ears pierced!
My mom went out and looked through the window to get the best view. It was so crowded in that store!

 All done!
