Christopher's Car Accident...

Christopher and his parents had a great trip to Utah to be with Kolton for his graduation and Temple Endowments.

They headed home from Utah around 9am and Christopher called at about 10:30 to let me know that he  just dropped his parents off at his office (where they had left their car) and he would be home in about 30 minutes. We chatted about the drive home. They had made a stop at the Hoover Damn and in Las Vegas and Chris was ready to be home.

All of sudden Christopher yelled, I heard a bunch of shuffling, and then a loud crash. Immediately I started calling for Chris. A few seconds passed and then he got on the phone again and said "I've been in an accident, call 911!" He took a few ragged breaths and then started saying over and over again "I'm okay. I'm okay. Everything is okay."

It was all very frightening. Even writing it down doesn't seem to do it justice. It's bad enough to know that your husband has gotten in a wreck. It's ten times worse to be on the phone with him when it happened!

Christopher was getting ready to cross over an intersection when a car turned infront of him. Apparently the driver of the other vehicle was paying attention to a pedestrian crossing and as soon as the pedestrian crossed, he turned, right in front of Chris. It all could have been worse. And it all could have been prevented. The Pilot is totaled. Which is sad. But Christopher, although sore, is going to be okay!

I got off the phone with him and immediately said a prayer thanking our Heavenly Father for keeping Christopher safe.

11 years...

11 years ago today I married this guy.

I love this life we live. We are in the mist of family bike rides and park dates. Putting the girls to bed early and a quiet house at night. Making lunches, checking homework, church callings, and preschool.

I wouldn't change a thing. Except maybe more trips to Disneyland and weekend getaways....

Father's Day 2012

I think we did a great job of making Chris feel special on Father's Day. He got a manly breakfast of breakfast burritos, and after church the girls were so excited to give him his gifts. We drug it out as long as we could- making him take pictures with his eyes closed.

And he was so happy with his gifts. A new polo, a Costco sized bag of m&m's, and new toothbrush heads for his sonicare toothbrush.

We love this guy. He is our favorite and our best and we hope we make him feel this special all the time.

1/2 Marathon

Christopher competed in his first half marathon yesterday. He isn't much of a "pay to run" kind of guy but this half marathon was on the beach and was a cool opportunity to add to our "exploring Texas".

He calculated that it would take him less than 2 hours to run the course so we tried to schedule our arrival time with when he would cross the finish line. I didn't like this idea. The whole trip to the beach (45 minutes) I was picturing Chris waiting for us in the parking lot. I was also picturing a ton of people, no place to park, and hauling 3 kids by myself 1 mile from our parking spot to the finish line.

Of course, everything turned out just fine. We ended up finding a parking spot close to the finish line, 3 cars down from Chris' car, and despite the bitter wind, the girls were great! It wasn't super cold, just very, very, VERY, windy! And since the wind was cold...I forget the beach can be like that.

We ended up waiting about 20 minutes for Chris to cross the finish line. Christopher didn't factor in the awful wind and when he turned around to run against the wind he got slowed down quite a bit. When he crossed the finish line he kept saying "I was not prepared for the wind!" It was pretty brutal. Addysen had a hard time standing up straight!

I made signs for the girls to hold. This was tricky because of the wind but none of them blew away and that was an accomplishment! The "Time for Pizza" sign is funny because the whole week prior to his run, Chris told me after his run he was going to order a pizza for lunch! We have found a little hole in the wall family pizza place that serves New York style pizza. It's good but by no means a replacement for our family favorite, Barro's. It's better than chain pizza (gag) so we are happy to have found it.

The sign made a bunch of people laugh and Chris was happy to eat his pizza for lunch! He definitely deserved it!

Here he comes...

Still smiling...

10 years later...

I could say some clever things. I could be sarcastic. I could get mushy. I could talk about how much I have relied on him the last 8 months. Or how in this year our relationship has been tested and strengthened. There is a lot I can say. And a lot I don't want to say.

I love you Chris.

All in the details.

When I told Chris I made 3 lists, one for each girl, I said "I'm not trying to micromanage but...." He said "A list is micromanaging" I said "No, a list is just a recommendation of how things should be done." ......

So yes, maybe I am micromanaging just a bit. But in my defense I did tell him that he didn't have to go by the list hour by hour. It's just there to help to make sure all runs smoothly during the day. Mostly for Evyn.

This leaving home by myself sounded so much more fun 2 months ago. Now in the moment, trying to get all the details finalized, it feels easier to just stay home. Which is why most women don't go any where by themselves. It's just easier to stay put and do it all yourself! But I need it. It will be good for me, for the girls, and even for Chris.

There are a lot of details but when it's all said and done, if everyone is safe and happy does it really matter if Evyn had a vegetable for lunch and a fruit for dinner? Or if there are a few dishes in the sink? Not really.

I know I will be excited about this trip once I am on the plane happily reading my new book. Did you know I haven't flown alone since before Elodie was born! When the lunches are made, Elodie is at school, the last of the laundry is done, Addysen is at a playdate, and Evyn is napping quietly at a friends house until Chris goes to pick her up. He is working a half day tomorrow so it will be just a few hours in between when I leave and he swoops in.

I am so thankful for Christopher. He knew this was important to me and made the effort to take time off of work so I could go to Arizona. So thank you Chris! You will do great just you and the girls! I'm sure you will be happy to go back to work on Tuesday though!

I'm so excited to see my friends. I need this. I miss them and can't wait to soak them all in! To do some photoshoots. And most importantly see BREAKING DAWN!

So heres to safe travels, a good book on the plane, a dad with his girls, soaking up friends in the valley of the sun, and a high dose of Edward Cullen!

The first of many.

Elodie had her first real project due today. Her class has been talking about compasses, symbols, and landmarks for the last few weeks. Her assignment was to draw up a map from her house to school. She had to have a certain amount of landmarks and symbols. The route from home to school had to be clearly marked. But most importantly it had to be done by her. We could help her with straight lines and such but her teacher was clear that she didn't want the projects to look like the parents had done most of the work. It's surprising how hard that is to do!

My original thought was that the map wouldn't be overly detailed. Since Elodie had to do the work herself I pictured some cute drawings of the streets, sonic, the dollar store, and the school. Nothing fancy. But not Christopher. He brought home an areal view of our city and was all about the details! I should have known better. He is a structural engineer after all. It's a glimpse into what he does at work. Except he does ports and harbors and not streets. This was business and I let him take the lead on this one.

The 2 of them sat at the dining room table and worked on this map for a couple of hours. I was surprised at how well Elodie concentrated on it! I mean she has a pretty good attention span but 3 hours working on one thing is hard for anyone! Christopher made sure everything was proportional, Elodie did all the coloring, I helped with the title, and the stickers were a nice touch!

I was really excited for Elodie to turn it in today! it was a family effort and we were all proud of her map! I especially love the heart on our house. The mommy sticker at Sonic. Which you can see how close it is to our house, it would be hard for anyone to not stop there everyday! Right? I don't go every day. Maybe like 3 times a week. And only during happy hour or if I have a free survey coupon. Justified. I love the sticker of Elodie at her school. The girls said it was dad at the golf course. I very dark skinned dad. Addysen is up at the top of the poster and they named a million different friends at the park.

I'm sure all projects won't go this smoothly but it was a nice start to the first of many!

Chris' Arizona Weekend

How funny that last Monday I said I was going to post Chris' pictures on the next day. Now here we are a week later. Some times one day definitely bleeds into the next. It certainly doesn't feel like I haven't posted anything in a week. I can't even really tell you what kept me from the blog for a whole week! Sorry Mom!

Better late than never I guess.

Anyway. Christopher had a great time in Arizona. I will speak for him in saying that besides the awful flight delays and maintenance issues that lead to him walking through the door at 3:30am Monday morning, he was happy he got to go. Thankfully he was able to skip work in the morning and was able to sleep in for a bit. He got to work at noon. I told him Arizona was trying to keep him. Seriously. He said he wasn't doing Arizona much good sitting in the airport but I took it as a sign. Let it be known that I would have happily packed up the house by myself if he had decided to stay. Just saying.

His whole purpose in going to Arizona was to help Mace move everything into their new home. Like I said before, Mace was a huge help when we moved and it was a favor returned in our book! And we would have done it again no questions asked. I sent along our little point and shoot because Melissa's camera was broken and gave strict instructions that she was to take as many pictures as possible. I know if I had given Chris this job he wouldn't have followed through. But Melissa came through for me and I am so happy to have these!

I knew when I bought the ticket for Chris that I was jealous that he was going. But I wasn't really sure how I would handle seeing him there with our friends and their family. The first night Chris was there I talked to him on the phone and asked him what they were going to do that night. Barro's was on the list (which I knew it would be) but thinking about Chris being at Barro's without us and with Mace and Melissa and their family really did me in. Chris said it perfectly when he said "I want to tell you all the things we are doing but I know you can't handle it." And he is so right. We facechatted with them on Sunday before Chris left and watching the girls chat with Jacob, Isaac, and Graycie made me hate being here!

But I am glad he got to go. I'm glad he was such a great help to Mace. And that he got to see his parents and visit with them. Thanks Barbara for picking Chris up and taking him to the airport! And happy day for my trip in November!

Here are just a handful of the pictures Melissa took in no particular order and straight out of the camera.

I sent some presents for the kids. I made the girls matching necklaces.

One of the days Chris and Mace had on the same clothes. This isn't the first time this has happened, you can see them matching HERE too. The funny thing is Melissa said she kept getting them confused!

Around.

Not sure where I have been the last few days. Doing the daily grind feels good in the sense that 1. nothing has broken. 2. we are healthy. and 3. everyone is safe.

Christopher's life revolves around work. Just the way he wanted it right hun? Before we moved I told him he couldn't complain about a single thing work related for the first year we were here. I think I started out by saying 6 months but now that it is clear we will be here longer than a year I'm stringing it out as long as possible. I'm the only complainer in the family. He has kept his word and has nothing but good things to say about work.

I tried to surprise him (my first mistake) and bought him a ticket to go home to Arizona the last weekend in September. Our best friends are purchasing a house. When we moved Mace was Chris' right hand man and helped Christopher from start to finish. He even took a day off of work to help us. Good man. We always felt like we wanted to repay Mace somehow but sending a gift card didn't seem like enough. So when I found out about their big move, and looked to see how cheap tickets were, AND realized I had some credit card points that needed to be used, I immediately got him a flight. I wanted to hold on to the surprise for a few more weeks but when you share a checking account with her husband and he knows every user name and password you own he is bound to find out. So yesterday he came home and asked if I had spent some money to some travel agency I spilt the beans. He was in shock at first, mostly because he can't stand being surprised, but later on he started asking questions about his trip and I think he is gearing up for it. Once the idea that he didn't have any say in the matter wears off he will be more excited! I'm excited for him!

I'm trying here. Still. A few days ago I sat in the car pool line waiting for Elodie and I watched a group of moms outside of the door to the school chatting and laughing to one another. Man that one got to me. I was that girl who chatted with the other moms at school. She is still there, I just need to find her. Secretly I people watch and wonder if that girl could be my friend.
I joined the PTA group and am the home room mom in Elodie's class. I hate not knowing all the kids in her class. Christopher had to remind me that this is only the 4th full week of school and there is a lot of time for all for all of that. It's pointless to point out that if we were in Arizona I wouldn't have to get to know the kids in Elodie's class...I already knew them! Once I get all my training done for volunteering in the classroom I hope more opportunities will come my way to venture out. I got called to be the chorister in Primary shortly after we moved to the ward and this weekend is the big primary presentation. GULP! I tell Elodie every Sunday that she has to sing loud to compensate for all the kids that just stare at me. Those kids can be a tough crowd at times!

Elodie is doing well in school. She is continuing to excel in reading. She has 2 teachers and she loves that she switches classrooms halfway through the day. She started piano lessons again but this time around we are her teachers. I practice with her every day and Chris does a one on one lesson one day a week. So far so good. Typical Elodie. Offspring of Alacey. If she is doing well she loves it. If she messes up she hates it. She gets it honestly so I try and be as patient as I can with her. No other outside activity as of now. She is still a tumbling fool and does front rolls all over the place. I'm hoping we can get her into dance or gymnastics after the first of the year.

Addysen lives in a bubble just the way I like it. She says things like "You are so busted!" and "Whatcha doing?" She loves all the Glee music and we have a dance party pretty much every night so she can shake her bum. She loves Evyn and runs ahead of me to help the baby. She is completely diaper free at night. TMI? Maybe but man are we happy about that one! She loves to do homework while Elodie is doing hers which consist of tracing. She will trace letters forever! She is at such a fun age and we just love her spunk!

Evyn is getting better with a spoon and has made the connection between bowl and meal time. She sees the bowl coming and she gets so excited. She gets more of the oatmeal in her mouth than on her clothes and slowly I am seeing a change in her sleep schedule. As of the last few days she is only waking up around 5am for a quick feeding and then back to bed until 7:30am when we have to get ready to take Elodie to school. A nice change for me for sure!

All in all we are good. The daily grind is good.

Summer List: Harry Potter

We saw it. We loved it. And if we had a free babysitter (THANKS MOM!) we would see it again and again and again.

{We spent the whole drive from Texas to my parents house listening to the last Harry Potter on cd. I love our Harry Potter conversations!}

Not sure how I feel about this...

I'm a very sentimental person however I am by no means a pack rat. I don't like clutter and typically have no problems throwing things out. As long as I can take a picture of it before I get rid of it I'm okay. This is not to say that I don't have 2 full boxes of Chris' t-shirts from high school, college, military as well as my high school, EFY, and musical t-shirts just waiting for me to make a quilt out of. That we have packed around with us every time we move. One of these days.

When moving to a new state we looked at the big picture of things. Like switching Elodie's school, leaving amazing friends, starting a new job, a new ward....and all of those brought different emotions. And while it's still hurts a little bit (a lot) we are slowly adjusting to a new life here in Texas.

The surprising thing about this move is how much the LITTLE things have stung the most. The little reminders that we have moved.. And the little things are the things you don't think about when you are in the process of moving. I like to refer to them as "nails in my Arizona box" Because I don't like the word coffin and we would like to end up back in Arizona. So the box can't completely shut!

A few examples:

Nail #1-Switching from Costco to Sam's. Now this may seem silly to anyone reading this but standing in that line to get my Sam's card after being a loyal Costco member for almost 7 years was hard! I vividly remember Elodie was 2 months old when we got our Costco membership. I mean, my Costco card is in the spot where my license should go! I figure I use my Costco card way more often than I get pulled over. When Christopher mentioned the idea of canceling our Costco card I put a big fat NO stamp on that card! After all, there is a Costco just 2 hours a way. And while I am thankful there is at least a Sam's out here, Sam's doesn't come close to Costco. And every time I go there, I miss Costco.

Nail #2-Christopher had to get the civic inspected and in the process "they" took down our ASU East parking sticker. Again, very small and silly but yes I cried over that one too. Sure, the only reason that sticker was still there was because we just never bothered or remembered at the right time to take it down. But Still. A huge part of our Arizona life was on that campus. And in 2 seconds it was gone!

Nail #3-Christopher closed out our National Bank of Arizona account. GULP! Yes, I hated that bank because for the longest time the only one available to us was super far away and it was a pain to go deposit money into it. And yes, it was our secondary account so we hardly ever used it. But Still. It was the first checking account we set up in Arizona when we lived in Snowflake. Silly? Yes. Stings? Definitely.

Nail #4- I haven't used my purse since I had Evyn and didn't really bother to clean it out after I switched to a diaper bag. I few days ago I went to Wal-mart by myself and instead of carrying the diaper bag I pulled my old purse out and threw my phone and wallet in it. While I was in Wal-Mart I was digging around in my purse and found a visitor sticker from Elodie's old school. I may have started crying right in the middle of Wal-Mart.

Nail #5- I write all of my list in a notebook and don't throw away the list after I'm done with it. I like to put the date at the top of the page and include all of the chores and errands I have to run that day. A journal of sorts. It also helps when I don't complete my list for that day, I just add it to the next day. Anyway, I came across the notebook that had the list of to-do's for Addysen and Graycie's party. Groceries, errands, plans for the party, Addysen's present list, the gift we were giving Graycie, even a sketch of what the cake would look like. And you can guess, I lost it! I immediately sent a text to Melissa...

Nail #6- The first UFC fight Chris watched all by himself! That alone made me want to fly Mace out here pronto!

Nail #7- Realizing we won't make it to the Big Dirty this year. This will be the first one we have missed in 11 years. We have gone every year since the year we got engaged.

Nail #8- Happened just last week when Christopher went and registered the civic. The Arizona license plate had expired (back in March) and it was at the top of the priority list. Which meant the Arizona license plate came off and the Texas license plate went on. Christopher jokingly asked if we needed to have a little ceremony when he got ready to switch the plates. I thought it was a great idea (aka:photoshoot) but he switched them before we got a chance to commemorate the event. Apparently he was joking. Probably for the best. No need to make matters worse.

Christopher has accused me many of times of looking backwards. And he's right. But I don't think it's a bad thing. I realize that we had our fair share of trials and stresses in Arizona. it wasn't all amazing and happy. And neither will our time here in Texas. But the happy fun times are the things I choose to remember. And we had a ton of those! Otherwise I wouldn't miss it so much!

Pioneer Heritage

Our ward celebrated Pioneer Day this past Saturday. As members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, each July we celebrate the early Pioneers who crossed the plains from Nauvoo in to the Salt Lake Valley.

As part of the activity Christopher was asked to give a brief talk about his Pioneer Family. Chris' Grandma Brewer comes from a long line of Pioneers dating back to when the church was formed. Very interesting stuff and a lot of it I had never even heard of. It made for a lot of discussion for me and Christopher. It's amazing how one mans decision has affected so many lives. It certainly makes me want to be a better person and live a better life for the generations that will come after us. Chris' mom sent over 20 pages of information on Chris' great, great, great grandpa. This is just one of the stories that Chris shared with our ward. I'm not expecting anyone to read this. I mostly want to keep this for our own journaling purposes.

Philemon Christopher Merrill:

The sketch of his life was written by a descendant who had a desire to have something to hand down to the posterity of this honorable pioneer who with his loved ones went through the early hardships, persecutions, and trials of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He was born Nov. 12, 1820, at Byron, Genesee County, N.Y., to Samuel Merrill and Phoebe Odell. At the age of 11 he accompanied his parents to Nauvoo, Ill., arriving in 1837. He was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in March 1839, ordained an Elder in June 1840 by Patriarch Hyrum Smith, and filled a mission to Wisconsin in 1840-41. He also worked on the construction of the Nauvoo Temple, which the saints were trying hard to complete.

Philemon Christopher Merrill was closely associated with the Prophet Joseph Smith. The family has always understood that he was one of the prophet’s bodyguards although it is not found in history. This incident will prove how closely related he was to the prophet. In June 1843, the Governor of Missouri issued a writ for the person of Joseph Smith. A sheriff by the name of Reynolds of Missouri was appointed to get him. On this same day June 13, Joseph with his wife Emma and children, started to Dixon, Lee County, Illinois to visit Emma’s sister. Five days later on the 18th June when word was received in Nauvoo that Gov. Ford of Illinois had issued the writ for Joseph Smith, his brother, Hyrum immediately sent Stephen Markham and William Clayton on horseback to find and warn the Prophet. The officers wanted to drag him to Missouri to kill him. They charged him with treason on the grounds that he was a fugitive from justice. Two of the villains, Wilson and Reynolds, took it upon themselves to go after the Prophet. They disguised themselves and proposed to be Elders of the church. Following Joseph to the home of his sister-in-law they kidnapped him and started for Missouri. Joseph had many friends along with him, Philemon being one of them. These out law didn’t want to go to Nauvoo. They said that they never would get through alive. The friends of the Prophet held out and stayed with him to the end of the journey. While on this journey and resting in a little grove of trees where the ground was well sodden, one of the lawyers for Reynolds and Wilson began to boast of his prowess as a wrestler. He offered to wager any sum that he could throw any man in the state of Illinois at side-hold. Stephen, a side-hold wrestler, told the lawyer that he would not contest for money but would try a bout for fun. They grappled and the man threw Markham. When a great shout rose from Joseph’s enemies and they began to taunt the Prophet and his friends, Joseph turned to Philemon C. Merrill, a young man from Nauvoo, and said, “get up and throw that man.” Merrill was about to say that side-hold was not his game, but before he could speak, the Prophet commanded him in such a way that his tongue was silenced. He arose to his feet, filled with the strength of a Samson, Merrill lifted his arms and told the lawyer to take his choice of sides. The man took the left side with his left arm under. The company all declared that this was not fair as he had a double advantage. Merrill felt such confidence in the word of the Prophet that it made no difference to him how much advantage his opponent took and allowed the hold. As they grappled, Joseph said: “Philemon, when I count to three, throw him.” On the instant after the word dropped from Joseph’s lips, Merrill, with the strength of a giant threw the lawyer over his left shoulder and he fell striking his head upon the earth. Awe fell upon the opponents of the Prophet when they saw this and there were no more challenges to wrestle (This was copied from the Life of Joseph Smith by George Q. Cannon, pgs 448-449)

Persecution continued. Joseph Smith was haunted and abused. On the 16th of June, 1844 the Prophet Joseph Smith preached to the assembled Saints in the grove East of the Temple (while rain fell heavily) from the revelation of St John, the divine. After the city had been declared under martial law the legion was drawn up in front of the mansion house. The Prophet, standing upon the framework of a building opposite addressed the Saints. He asked the Saints if they love him, if they would stand by him and sustain the laws of our country and they all assured “yes, yes.” Then he said he was content and would die for them: also said “I love you brethren. Greater love hath no man than he lay down his life for his friends: you have stood by me in the hour of trouble, and I am willing to sacrifice my life for your preservation.” Then drawing his sword and presenting it to heaven he said I call God and Angels to witness that this people shall have their legal rights or my blood shall be spilt upon the ground like water and my body consigned to the tomb. Peace shall be taken from the land, which permits these crimes against the Saints to go unavenged. May the Lord God of Israel bless you forever and ever. I say this in the name of Jesus of Nazareth and in the Authority of the Holy Priesthood, which he hath conferred upon me.” All the people cried, “Amen!”

Philemon helped evacuate Nauvoo when persecutors drove the Saints out, and he was one of the guards to cross the Mississippi River with Church records,

Philemon enlisted as a volunteer in the Mormon Battalion Company B and endured the long march to the Pacific Coast. He left his wife and three children in Iowa to await his return. He then made his way back to Iowa to rejoin his family; however, Philemon never saw his youngest child again because she had died shortly after his enlistment. In the spring of 1849 the Merrills made ready and crossed the plains to Salt Lake Valley, arriving Oct. 16, 1849. In 1877 the Church called Philemon to help settle parts of central and southeastern Arizona.

He later held the office of Patriarch, being ordained by John Henry Smith. Philemon was a good public speaker and loved to talk about the Prophet Joseph Smith. About 1900 he moved to San Jose, Ariz., and died at his home there Sept. 15, 1904, at the age of 84.

The trials he went through made it possible for his descendants to enjoy the blessings of the gospel today. Then should not the descendants try and do something to perpetuate his name and live such in this life that he will be proud to own us as his children. May we carry on the work he so nobly started. His life should give us the courage to stand true to the faith until the end.

Mini Dates

A few things Chris and I are enjoying. A nightly date night at home of sorts. I look forward to it. I get through the day excited about spending my time with Chris at night.

-The Whirley Pop.

I hadn't heard of one of these until my bestie Melissa. She got one as a wedding present and uses it all the time. I was convinced I needed one when she made kettlecorn for New Years Eve one year and then again for the girls 2nd birthday. For my last birthday, she, Audrey, and Jen went in on one for me. Love them. When we first got it we tried our hand at kettlecorn and it burned. Then we tried again and it burned. After about the 3rd or 4th time of burnt kettlecorn I gave up. Then a few weeks later Chris started using it for just plain popcorn and we got hooked. Now, after the girls are in bed, we have popcorn about 3 or 4 times a week. We love our whirley pop. You can find them at Bed,Bath, and Beyond for about $20. Money well spent. I still am not brave enough to try out kettlecorn again but maybe soon.

-We can't eat popcorn without chocolate. Our favorite is m&m's or hershey kisses. A few weeks ago I discovered these gems.

The best of both worlds! Little effort like a m&m with the flavor of a hershey kiss. YUM! If they started making these in the Costco size we will be in trouble. But I won't complain!

-I'll admit that I was one of the first to roll my eyes at all the hoopla about the iphone. When Chris decided he wanted one when it was time for his upgrade I wasn't on board. Here we are about 4 months later. And while I still think it's more of a luxury than a need, I'll admit, it's pretty cool. Especially when Chris downloaded Scrabble and Yahtzee on to his phone. When we got married some of our friends gave us the Yahtzee game as a wedding gift. Throughout our marriage we have gone through waves where we played yahtzee every night. We even kept track of our high scores on the inside of the box. Along with the high score we made sure to include the date. Very fun memory. Now I love to give games as wedding gifts because I know how much Chris and I loved that gift from our friends (Jason and Jamie Davis) Here we are, 10 years later, and we still love to play Yahtzee. Just on his phone instead of the actual board game. We are on a scrabble kick right now and can be found playing it every single night. We play while watching tv, in bed before we go to sleep, and just the other night we were stuck in traffic so we started playing then too! It's really fun and addicting!

Popcorn, Chocolate, and a Game. Perfect combo for an at home date night. What's your favorite at home date night? Any games you love on the iphone?
